FOX ELIPSUS...

"Elipsus is a mosaic of haunting -soothing - mellow - and unforgettable sounds that move all of those who look for depth truth and beauty in music. It is full of the peaceful and passionate political environmental and human messages of John Lennon and Gandhi. Fox believes in peace and love and these songs are as passionate and moving as his beliefs."

My name is Fox Elipsus. I love doing this more than anything you could imagine. From the moment I started doing this professionally I knew I had found the thing that I would spend the rest of my life doing.

I was born in Oxford, England. I am partly Persian, mostly English, and a little Irish too. I speak a few languages, I have been to a lot of countries, including parts of Africa and Asia. My life has given me a unique and unbiased perspective on the world and ideas about how we might work towards peace and fair government in the future.

I try to make the most honest, heartfelt, personal, important, and powerful music imaginable. My music is meant for all age groups, all races, and all nationalities. There is no age group or demographic that likes my music more or less than any other. That gives me hope for the future.

I intend to play a show in every country of the world. I work 24 hours a day, every day, on my career. Please listen, and click below to find out how you can help me.

I am trying to bring meaningful and deep messages back to music, similar to John Lennon. I'm from Oxford England (yes I have an accent) and I have an insatiable drive to reach the world with these words and songs. I hope the world will listen for a moment or more. Something amazing is happening. In the space of a few months I have found thousands of new fans that are soothed and inspired by my music, all over the world. It is growing rapidly, and I want you to be a part of it from the start. I am looking for friends, fans, supporters and promoters. Please listen.

HOW YOU CAN HELP... (I NEED YOU!)

HOW TO HELP:

It's easy, quick, and most of it is free. Now is the time I need you most of all. I am just starting out. I am struggling. I spend 24-7 on this. I can't do it without your help.

(a) listen to the music. It really is worth 5 minutes of your time. My fan base is growing quickly among fans of those aforementioned bands and singers - listen for yourself and find out why. Send me an e-mail or "facebook" me or leave a comment on the website to say what you think, cause feedback is everything... http://www.elipsus.net

(b) if you don't like the music, thanks for listening, and I apologize... but if you love the music, try and make it to the show. If you can't make it, tell some friends about it. If you can make it, try and bring people. Remember the show is free.

(c) Regardless of whether you can make it, "become a fan" of Fox Elipsus on facebook (this really helps), using THIS link:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fox-Elipsus/10102302541?ref=s

(d) And then join my official facebook fan group where hundreds of my other fans hang out, click HERE to see the group:
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=6715139799

(e) And finally, if you really love the music, help support me in the best way of all, by buying my double CD. 34 songs, almost three hours of music, and it's $10. You can get it right here on the http://www.elipsus.net website, or on myspace, http://www.myspace.com/foxelipsus - and while you're there, add me. Of course if you come to the show, you can not only get the CD there, but get it signed, too!!!

Remember the new CD TURN BACK THE CLOCK is available for presale on 10-09-08!

SPECIAL NOTE:

If you are willing to help even more, write to elipsus@gmail.com

I am looking for photographers, directors, video editors, producers, promoters, record labels, and people willing to spend a little time doing work for me online. It might be fun or it might be boring but it is extremely vital! I won't be able to pay you (much, or at all even), but my incredible promotional skills will get your name and your work well known all across the world, if we work together!

INFLUENCES...

In my words and my songs, I intend to bring back the peaceful and very honest messages of John Lennon, and the older generations, who were willing to spend their lives trying to make the world a better place, through their art and their artistic influence. I think it is time for a massive new movement for change and I want to be a part of that, and I want you to be a part of it too.

The biggest influences to my sound are, Keane, Coldplay, U2, Depeche Mode, Tears For Fears, a-ha, Crowded House, Savage Garden, Pet Shop Boys, New Order. Also, Talk Talk, Duran Duran, The Killers, Ben Folds, Radiohead, Muse. Vocally I am compared a lot to one of my all time faves, George Michael, (yay). Also Nik Kershaw, Guillemots, The Cure, Aztec Camera, Enya, UB40, Simply Red, OMD, Billy Joel, Blur, Dire Straits, REM, Alphaville, Suede, Sarah McLachlan, Travis, Rialto, Lighthouse Family, Jimmy Eat World, Supergrass, Sufjan Stevens, Wolfsheim, Big Country, Kylie, Ultravox, Howard Jones, Bryan Adams, One Republic, Bon Jovi, Erasure, and the diverse and eternal music and beautiful message of, Michael Jackson.

IMPORTANT QUOTES...

We are all equal with no exceptions. We all have the right to be heard. We should respect each other as we respect ourselves and those we love. I wish people could travel to the parts of the world they fear because their impressions of those places would change. People are the same wherever you go... we all share the bittersweet feeling about life itself and there are philosophical questions that we are afraid to ask... gender - race - nationality - religion - wealth - these things do not make who we are. Those boxes keep us divided. My songs promote equality on all levels.

"They own all the big media companies so they control just about all the news and information you get to hear. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying to get what they want. Well we know what they want, they want more for themselves and less for everyone else."

"I'll tell you what they don't want. They don't want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don't want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking - they're not interested in that. That doesn't help them. That's against their interests."

The most important quote of all:

"Naturally, the common people don't want war...
But, after all, it is the leaders of a country
Who determine policy...
And it is always a simple matter
To drag people along...
Whether it is a Democracy,
Or a Fascist Dictatorship,
Or a Parliament,
Or a Communist Dictatorship...
Voice or no voice,
The people can always be brought
To the bidding of their leaders...
This is easy.
All you have to do is tell them
"We are being attacked..."
And Denounce The Pacifist
For exposing this country to danger...

It works the same in every country."

(that was from the Nurnberg Trials, by Hermann Goering
Adolph Hitler's Reich-Marshal)

Past And Present Contributors To Elipsus...

FOX ELIPSUS... (aka Fox Salehi)

Lead vocalist, backing vocalist, main songwriter, pianos, synths, drum programming, promotion.

Born and raised in Oxford, England, he moved to America by himself as a teenager, and soon decided to devote his life to making memorable and internationally viable music. He has immense drive, and passionate political and social beliefs, which drive the heart of the philosophical, peaceful and powerful messages behind the songs of Elipsus... to see him perform live is to realize the intense passion that drives him.

MUSICIANS THAT HAVE PERFORMED AS PART OF ELIPSUS...

STEVE BOROWSKI: Played guitars live with Elipsus once, and impressed everyone.

JOE SIKORSKI: The former lead guitarist brought a Pink Floyd-style guitar sound to make the music even more haunting. The man responsible for the glorious guitar riffs on the new unrecorded version of Something In Your Eyes.

PAUL RIVOLI: The charismatic and energetic young Buffalo-based bass guitarist who helped Fox at several shows in Winter 2007-08.

PHIL MAILEY: My dear friend and my Toronto-based drummer.

DAVID BURKE: An absolutely phenomenal drummer out of Rochester, NY.

ALEX SCHULTZ: Played our CD release party, and rocked it.

JOE SUPLICKI: Genius, instinctive drummer. The best professional musician I have ever worked with. Joe Suplicki may be the best drummer you will ever meet. I am honoured to have worked with him.

ROB EGLOFF: Has played bass guitar live with me. Great work. Dedicated. Thank you Rob and best of luck with your new family!

BENNY T: Brilliant and talented, his skills helped me be victorious at the Supernova Battle Of The Bands.

And last but definitely, never, ever least: BRENT PERSIA

The producer of Changing History, and former live performance co-vocalist, backing vocalist, co-songwriter, lead guitar player, and co-drum programmer. Brent still comes out and plays guitars and pianos and sings backing vocals once in awhile. Dependable and a genuinely lovely guy, as well as a genius in the studio. Also a great performer in his own right: www.brentpersia.com

I would like to thank Stefan Noble and Wesley Myers for their contributions to Elipsus... I would like to thank Elipsusgurl for being the most super superfan ever: without her, Elipsus could not be possible. I would like to thank my Buffalo area head of promotion, Joanne S, for her endless, tireless work. I would like to thank Joshua Querci of J12, Alex Clausen, Elyse Allen, Susan Marie, and all the other promoters of Elipsus... and most of all, all the fans and lovely people who have driven us forward and given us inspiration and self-belief. And especially Brent Persia. I would not be here without him.
